Elk Run Golf Course, previously named Mountain Pub-Links Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Pikeville, Kentucky.
Elk Run first opened for play in 1992. The course was designed by Jack Sykes.
The front nine plays across level terrain while the back nine is hilly. The fairways vary in width. The greens are large and somewhat fast. Water hazards, (ponds and creeks), come into play on nine holes.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 5,949 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,732 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 9, a par-5 that plays to 513 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 7, a par-3 that plays to 146 yards from the back tees.
The most difficult hole is #17, a 384 yard, par4. To play this hole you have to hit your tee shot diagonally over a creek and your approach shot to a green tucked alongside a creek with sand bunkers protecting its front.
